THROUGH DECEMBER, I WILL HAVE A STUDENT TEACHER FOR 2ND AND 3RD PERIODS

Monday 

-- Outside read

-- Introduction to “Irony and Ambiguity” section of the text book (p. 284-285) in text. We will also discuss the picture on pg. 283 in regards to ambiguity.

-- We will begin reading “The Gift of the Magi” on pg. 287 of the text.

--HW—Vocabulary for “Magi” in the short story packet (pg 47).  

 

Tuesday Advisory Day

-- Outside read.

-- Complete reading “The Gift of the Magi”

-- Complete pages 49-52 in the short story packet. This will be due at the end of the period. We will also correct it by the end of the period.

BOOK REPORTS DUE TOMORROW

 

Wednesday BOOK REPORTS DUE TODAY –See directions below.

-- I will be giving book reports all period today and tomorrow.

-- Students will be responsible for reading the introduction to symbolism and allegory. Next, they will read “The Scarlet Ibis” in the text book. They will complete the pages in the packet for this short story while they read it.

-- The students have until the end of the period Tuesday to complete this, as I will be giving book reports until the beginning of the period Friday.

 

Thursday Blue and White Day Tomorrow

-- Continue book reports.

-- “The Scarlet Ibis” packet is due at the end of the period. If the students finish this, they may outside read for the rest of the period

 

Friday Blue and White Day—5 Extra Credit Points

-- Outside read while I wrap up the book reports.

-- Read Frost’s “The Road Not Taken” in regards to symbolism

-- Complete pgs 53-54 in class.

-- Correct the “Ibis” section of the packet

-- Introduce the dynamic character essay prompt which will be due Tuesday, October 13th.
