Parting is such sweet sorrow…”                                Homework Hotline: 268-7299 ext 8383                                      William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616), "Romeo and Juliet", Act 2 scene 2                    When reading “Romeo and Juliet”, it is a little tricky to pinpoint exactly where the class will be. We will read at the pace of the class and get as far as we can each day, while stopping to explain and discuss different aspects and themes of the play as we go. Each day, the class will begin with outside reading.

 

MONDAY 28 DAYS LEFT
-- Correct Act II vocabulary on pages 28-29 in the “Romeo and Juliet” packet.
-- Outside read

-- Begin reading Act II. Students will pair up and translate the lines and explain them to the rest of the class. We will do this for the first part of the act, then continue to read the play aloud.

-- Continue reading “Romeo and Juliet” → We will probably finish reading Act II today. When we finish, we will have a quiz over Act II. Students will then be assigned pages 30-33 in the “Romeo and Juliet”. After correcting the packet, we will view the Franco Zeffirelli film version of Act II.
