MONDAY --
Today and tomorrow we will be in the library doing research for the
Elizabethan speech that sets the groundwork for the “Romeo and
Juliet”/Shakespeare unit. --
The speech will be due Tuesday, April 15th.
-- Speech= 100 points (based on several conventions including,
annunciation, voice inflection and volume)
-- Works Cited= 100 points (The only typed document due for the
project. This is a list of the sources used)
-- Visual Aid= 50 points (The visual aid needs to be large enough
for the whole class to see and must have one
original [writing,
drawing etc.] product on the aid.) TUESDAY --

Correct pages 5-7 and 19-20 in the “Romeo and Juliet” packet. --
Map out the highlights and lowlights of your life. --
Get into the mood of reading Shakespeare by using Shakespearian insults. --
Cast the 1st Act → Read the Prologue of “Romeo and
Juliet”. When
reading “Romeo and Juliet”, it is a little tricky to pinpoint
exactly where the class will be. We will read at the pace of the class
and get as far as we can each day, while stopping to explain and discuss
different aspects and themes of the play as we go. Each day, the class
will begin with outside reading. THURSDAY --PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE
TODAY AFTER SCHOOL. --

Continue to read “Romeo and Juliet”. We will take notes on
characters and days as we go along. FRIDAY BLUE
