My Lesson Plans

Who am I?

My name is Christine Hinkle, Academic Literacy and Upper Class Literacy teacher.  I graduated from the University of Montana Western with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with emphasis in Reading K-12, and Special Education K-12.  I worked for eight years as a counselor for children and adolescents throughout the state of Montana.

Learning has been a life-long passion.  I continue to research and study various aspects of how children learn and process information, curricula development and teaching strategies designed to meet the needs of students in a diverse population.

What to expect?

I wanted to tell you a little about what we will be doing this year.  I am planning many fun and exciting activities related to skill enhancement in reading, comprehension, vocabulary development, and writing composition.  These activities will involve active student participation with projects, hands-on activities, field experiences, guest speakers, and student made portfolios.

Students can apply literacy skills in other content courses to increase their success and improve performance.  The purpose of this class is to increase student confidence; skill building and help students become successful high school students.  Literacy is essential to learning.  It is the pathway to lifelong learning and the key to life’s opportunities.
